Introducing our latest ECB40W18 series, an ultra-wide input DC-DC converter boasting an 18:1 ratio, providing a 40W of regulated output power. This compact unit is designed with dimensions of 2” x 1” inches (50.8 x 25.4 mm). The series holds safety certifications for IEC/UL 62368-1 and features 3000Vac isolation (input to output).

Offering single outputs at 5, 12, 15, 24, and 54 VDC, this series comes with additional benefits, including the trim function for adjustment from 54 VDC down to 48 VDC and a remote on/off feature. Compliant with EN 50155 (with external circuits), Shock & Vibration EN 61673, and Fire & Smoke EN 45545-2, it is well-suited for railway applications.

To enhance flexibility, optional models incorporating BUS pin and external UVLO adjustment functions are available. The BUS pin simplifies system design, allowing designers to extend or maintain holdup time, reduce inrush current, and minimize capacitor size, ultimately saving space in end devices. The external UVLO provides system designers with the capability to fine-tune the under voltage lockout point within the specified range outlined in the application note.

Exceptional Performance:

The ECB40W18 presents an exceptionally broad input voltage range spanning from 8.5 to 160 VDC, effectively covering typical distributed voltages within railway power systems. Additionally, it has the outstanding high efficiency up to 90%, and operates reliably across a wide temperature range from -40°C to +105°C. This series is suitable for use at high altitudes, with a maximum limit of 5000m, and offers an impressive MTBF of up to 2,386k hours.

Full Protections:

The ECB40W18 series is safeguarded by input UVLO, output over-current/voltage, and continuous short circuit protection. With safety certifications like IEC/UL 62368-1, EN 50155 (with external circuits), and EN 45545-2, it meets essential railway market standards. It also fulfills requirements for interruptions of voltage supply Class S3 and voltage change-over Class C2 based on Cincon referenced circuitry.

This series is suitable for various railway applications such as signal system, TCMS system, communication system, display system, surveillance, and broadcasting system. It is also ideal for industrial/ITE applications such as routers, firewalls, automation equipment, test & measurement instrument, power management system, industrial control system, and other industrial applications.
