Cincon new CRT100W12 series is a compact and high-efficiency DC-DC converter tailored for railway applications, delivering 100W of regulated output power. With a wide 12:1 input range and a small footprint (5.09" x 2.28" / 129.4 x 57.9 mm), it is certified to IEC/UL 62368-1 and offers reinforced isolation of 3000Vac between input and output.
This series is available with single output voltages of 12, 24, or 48 VDC, and includes user-friendly features such as output voltage adjustability and remote on/off control. It also meets rigorous railway standards including EN 50155, EN 61373 for shock and vibration, and EN 45545-2 for fire and smoke protection. Models compliant with EN 50155 Class S3 and Class C2 Criteria A are also available to meet the optimal hold-up time requirement.
Optional "-Q" models include built-in Oring FETs, allowing for redundant system configurations.
Exceptional Performance:
Supporting an extensive input voltage range from 14.4 to 160 VDC, the CRT100W12 series is engineered to accommodate typical railway power systems such as 24V, 72V, and 110VDC. It boasts a high conversion efficiency of up to 92% and ensures stable operation in demanding environments with a wide case temperature range from -40°C to +90°C.
Comprehensive protection:
The CRT100W12 series is built with robust protection features, including reverse input polarity protection, under-voltage lockout, output over-current and over-voltage protection, over-temperature protection, and continuous short-circuit protection. It complies with key safety, railway and multimedia equipment standards such as IEC/UL 62368-1, EN 55032/35, EN 50155, and EN 45545-2, while also meeting EN 50155 Class S3 (voltage interruption) and Class C2 (voltage change-over) requirements.
Notably, the CRT100W12 series meets the highest operating temperature category—OT6—under EN 50155, ensuring reliable performance even under extreme thermal conditions. Furthermore, the product has passed rigorous Level 3 tests for EMC, surge, and ESD, making it exceptionally resilient in electrically noisy or harsh railway environments.
Applications:
With its ultra-wide input range, the CRT100W12 series supports both rolling stock onboard nominal voltages (24V, 72V, 110VDC) and industrial inputs (24V, 48V, 96VDC), converting them into fully regulated, isolated outputs of 12V, 24V, or 48VDC.
This makes it highly suitable for a broad spectrum of railway applications such as signaling, train control and management systems (TCMS), communications, door control, passenger information displays, broadcasting, HVAC, toilet systems, and lighting. It’s also ideal for industrial and ITE use, including telecom, factory automation, instrumentation, power systems, and control equipment.
The semi-potted PCB enhances durability in harsh conditions, providing long-term reliability for critical systems. For added protection, the optional "-P" variant includes conformal coating to guard against moisture, contaminants, and corrosive elements.
