Key specs:
The newly launched EC3AW8 and EC4AW8 series from Cincon are high-performance DC-DC converters delivering 3W and 6W of regulated power, tailored for demanding industrial environments. Housed in a standard industrial DIP-24 package measuring 1.25” x 0.8” x 0.4” (31.8 x 20.3 x 10.2 mm), these converters feature an ultra-wide 8:1 input voltage range. They meet IEC/UL/EN 62368-1 safety standards and provide robust 3000VDC input-to-output isolation.

The series are available with single output voltages of 3.3, 5, 12, or 15VDC, and dual outputs of ±5, ±12, or ±15VDC, while incorporating positive remote on/off control (optional) for ease of system integration.
Exceptional Performance:
With a range of ultra-wide input from 9 to 75VDC, the EC3AW8 and EC4AW8 series are suitable for common industrial and IT power systems such as 12V, 24V, and 48V. They deliver high efficiency up to 87% and ensure reliable performance under harsh conditions. The operating temperature range extends from -40°C to +105°C (with de-rating), and the maximum case temperature is +115°C. Additionally, they feature very low no-load input current (7mA max. for 3W, 8mA max. for 6W), effectively reducing power consumption in standby mode.
Comprehensive protection:
Engineered with comprehensive protection features, including input under-voltage lockout (UVLO), output over-voltage protection (OVP), over-current protection (OCP), and continuous short-circuit protection, these converters meet key safety and EMI standards. Notably, the EC3AW8 and EC4AW8 series meet EN 55032 Class A without an external filter, significantly simplifying design and integration for space-constrained applications. They are also compliant with MIL-STD-810F for shock and vibration and support operating altitudes up to 5000m.

With their ultra-wide input range, the EC3AW8 and EC4AW8 series support a broad spectrum of applications such as instruments, industrial automation and control systems, measurement & test Equipment, IPC and embedded systems, and IT systems. They are also ideal for distributed power architectures, telecom & data communication equipment, and battery-operated equipment where wide input voltage variation is common.
